Rachel Appoh-Opoku, Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa Central in the Central Region, has pledged her constant support for farmers in the constituency.

She said the work of farmers was key to the development of the region and the country as a whole.

Mrs Appoh-Opoku, who is also a former Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), stated that her commitment and support to farmers in the constituency was unalloyed.

Speaking at the donation of assorted farm implements worth GH¢50,000 with funds from the Common Fund to farmers in her constituency, she said, “Most of my constituents are farmers and I will support them every farming season.”

The former deputy minister explained that it would be unfortunate to “watch my farmers who took me to parliament suffer during this farming season. I give these items to help them in their farming.”

Mrs Appoh-Opoku, as a result, gave out 1,200 cutlasses, 100 knapsack spraying machines, 100 pairs of Wellington boots and 10 pieces of cocoa spraying machine to beneficiary communities like Gomoa Aboso, Ekroful, Benso, Akropong and Ekwamkrom.
