Two influential entertainers, actor Prince David Osei and musician Barimah Sydney, are the latest to join the ongoing ‘DumsorMustStop’ campaign to get the John Mahama-led government to fix the continuous energy crisis now known as “dumsor.”

The campaign, which is led by some of the country’s influential celebs including Yvonne Nelson and Sarkodie, started months ago as an online campaign.

It is currently about to hit the streets as organisers are preparing for a ‘DumsorMustStop’ night vigil to push their message and concerns to the government.

The power crisis has persisted for the past three years, with government constantly shifting the goalpost as to when it will end.

Many workers, especially in the major capital cities, have since been rendered redundant while several other businesses have closed down.

In April last year, Prince David asked Ghanaians to be patient and give the government time to improve the living conditions in the country.

The decision of the actor to join ‘DumsorMustStop’ is definitely an indication that he is not impressed at the turn of events.

“We are not intimidated, we are not cowards, we are citizens of this great nation…Ghana. DumsorMustStop. Flying into Ghana last night, all I saw when I looked down from the skies was utter darkness in the city of Accra…What happened to the beautiful Accra night? 16th May the vigil is on…#DumsorMustStop,” Prince David Osei stated on social media last Friday.

Musician Sydney, on the other hand, is no stranger when it comes to criticising governments.
