The destroyed shed at the cemetary

Drama unfolded at Edumfa in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) District of the Central Region over the weekend when the Prophetess of Edumfa Prayer Camp, Mama Rebecca, ordered some people to vandalise the grave of her late auntie who was buried in the area about six months ago.

Information had it that Mama Rebecca ordered the people to destroy the grave on Friday around 4pm, a situation which compelled the children of the deceased to report the matter to the Abura Dunkwa District Police Command.

Briefing DAILY GUIDE, one of the children of the deceased, Ekow Mensah, said they had a call from the people of the area that their mother’s grave was being destroyed at the royal cemetery by some people, and that this compelled them to rush to the scene, where they found Mama Rebecca standing beside the grave as the people destroyed it.  According to Ekow, his wife and the other siblings asked the prophetess why the people were destroying the grave but she told them she had ordered the people to destroy it.  He said the wife and the siblings broke out into tears when they realised that nothing would change the mind of Prophetess Rebecca.

He said Mama Rebecca and the workers however left the place when residents of the area, upon hearing the issue, started trooping to the scene.

DAILY GUIDE gathered that Mama Rebecca and her men had finished destroying the sheds on the grave and were about to destroy the grave itself when the residents started trooping to the area, making them to stop and leave the scene.

When contacted, Mama Rebecca asked the press to tell the auntie’s children to drag her before court.  She said although she contributed GH¢100 towards the construction of the grave and the sheds, people had started complaining about its proximity to the prayer camp; hence the need to destroy it.

According to her, the cemetery was close to the prayer camp, making people to complain about the situation.
