SAKUMONO TENNIS Club will play host to 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club in a special two-day tournament, starting today, May Day.
Competition would be played in men’s singles, men’s doubles, ladies’ singles and ladies’ doubles.
President of the 4 Garrison Tennis Club, Mr. Samuel Ampadu-Kyei ‘Kyikyiss,’ said the two clubs want to test their strength on May Day.
He predicted a resounding victory for Mess Tennis Club who are trekking from Kumasi for the contest.
The 4 Garrison team will include Jerome Adagbe, Kofi Affum Naffoe, Henry Akwaboah, Robert Tetteh, Samuel Ampadu-Kyei and Nana Attakora.
Rev. Fr. James Boachie, Kwasi Dekyi, Francis Marshall, Alex Yeboah Asuamah, Brig Gen Joseph Adu Boampong (GOC), and Nana Osei Nsiah Ababio will also be in action.
Also in the men’s team are Kofi Otoo, Thomas Owusu Anash, Benjamin Edusei, Kwame Asare, Ernest Antwi, Eric Agyare and Capt. G.G. Klu-Amereka.
The rest are Yaw Nimo Baffour, Nii Kwei Kussachin, Kwadwo Kyei, Maxwell Owusu, Eric Asante and Kwasi Sarfo Boakye.
The ladies team include Bridgate Sutinga, Brenda Sutinga, Paulina Asembeng, Charlotte Nyamekye and Evelyn Addai Mensah.
Salifu Seidu Abebe, who is a luminary in the game of tennis, would captain the visiting team.
The Sakumono Tennis Club is likely to feature Alhaji Osman, Sam Donkor, Arnold Priddy, Steve Babson, Richmond Nkansah and Joe Biney.
The rest are Eric Owusu, Frank Addy, Frank Eshun, Kojo Mensah Bonsu and Alfred Tsyi, Tina Yamak and Louisa Davies.
