Ada Akosua Apea
The controversial YFm presenter, Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka aka Princess Ada, who has been on admission at the Police Hospital after incriminating herself by staging her own kidnapping and gang-raping, has finally given out her statement to the police.
The act was carried out on April 13, 2015.
Princess Ada, the radio diva, according to a police source, wrote a two-page statement by herself on her hospital bed on how the whole incident occurred, even though the source claimed the statement does not make any sense.
According to the source, “Ada wrote in her statement that she came to Accra to visit her friends but ended up at an internet cafĂ© at Zongo Junction to post some pictures on the internet.”
She has now been officially charged for deceit of public officer by an Accra magistrate court for staging the despicable act.
The Accra Regional Crime Officer, Chief Superintendent Paul Kontomah, confirmed to DAILY GUIDE that Ada had given her own statement but declined to reveal its content.
He said the police were waiting patiently for Princess Ada to be officially discharged by doctors attending to her for her to assist them in their investigations.
Meanwhile, information gathered indicates that she is still in bed at the Police Hospital under 24-hour police guard.
Princess Ada allegedly receives regular telephone calls from friends but pretends to be sick when the investigator in-charge of the case visits her at the hospital.
The radio presenter and four other people reportedly staged the rape and kidnapping episode at a hotel at Abossey Okai in Accra, as told by the police and corroborated by the hotel owner in a later interview with DAILYGUIDE.
I.J Frimpong, the owner of Joeregi Hotel located at the heart of the Abossey Okai spare parts market, said he rented out the hotel room to Ada and her gang upon being told that they were going to act a movie.
She was seen naked with an accomplice on her in a posture that caused public outrage. It turned out that the scene was a camouflage.
An 18-year-old painter, Nelson William, who was arrested on April 14, 2015 as an accomplice in the ‘gang-rape’ scandal, confirmed to the police that he was only carrying out the wish of Ada.
Nelson, also known as Iddrisu, was seen on top of Ada seemingly sexually assaulting her in the photographs circulated on social media. He, however, claimed under interrogation that he did not penetrate the woman and that it was part of the act as allegedly suggested by Ada, who was stark naked.
Nelson has since been granted bail by the Kaneshie magistrate court presided over by Adwoa Akyaamaa Ofosu.
It would be recalled that the YFm presenter, who enjoys a lot of listenership because of the versatility with which she handles her programme on air, was reportedly kidnapped and for about five days was nowhere to be found.
She mysteriously surfaced on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 claiming that she was gang-raped by five boys after the obscene pictures were seen circulating on social media.
This created uproar, leading to the police launching a full-scale investigation into the matter after which Nelson was arrested upon a tip-off.
ASP Effia Tengey, Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, told journalists on April 16, 2015 that Nelson said the act was staged by five persons, including Ada herself, another lady friend of hers and two other young men.
