First Capital Plus Bank, headline sponsors of Ghana’s Premier League, have made a scheduled payment of $500,000 to the GFA, bringing the total sponsorship funds released for this season to $1,000,000.
In an interview with Head of Marketing & Corporate Affairs, Nana Yaw Kesse, he reiterated that First Capital Plus Bank was committed to ensuring that the league attains the needed heights.
He advised the clubs to be more proactive in promoting themselves to the fans and the media to ensure a heightened media and fan interest.
He added that First Capital Plus Bank was impressed with the quality of football exhibited and the competitiveness of the league and encouraged Ghanaian footballers abroad whose contracts had expired to return to the First Capital Plus Premier league.
The marketing and corporate affairs boss congratulated Great Olympics for having a strategy to attract and manage seasoned footballers like Godwin Attram and Dan Quaye, among others, and called on the media to provide a more encouraging environment for returnee footballers.
He however called on radio stations who had signed the media rights agreement with the GFA to respect the agreement and give First Capital Plus Bank the needed benefits as enshrined in the agreement.
First Capital Plus Bank became the headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League last year when it signed a five-year sponsorship agreement with the GFA worth $10million.
